Can I myself apply KABE Stone+?
KABE Stone+ is designed as a Do-It-Yourself product. You do not need any crafts experience or advanced tools to apply KABE Stone+. The product consists solely of 1-component elements that are ready to use. For larger areas we recommend to consult a professional. Please read the instructions before you start. How long time does it take to make KABE Stone+?
Due to the products’ required drying time you should set aside at least five days for the process. How long it takes an individual to do the different processes depends on experience and technique.
Where should KABE Stone+ be used?
KABE Stone+ is ideal for application in wet zones such as showers, bathtubs and sinks. The surface must be stable, even, dry and free of dust, oil or loose materials before KABE Stone+ is applied.
Can KABE Stone+ be used in wet zones?
In spite of KABE Stone+ being waterproof, specific wet zone protection is still a legal requirement in Denmark. Although legal requirements for wet zones do not exist in every country we still recommend you to make sure that you have a wet zone protection before KABE Stone+ is applied. KABE Stone+ can be used in showers, bathtubs, sinks etc.
What if I want to apply KABE Stone+ on tiles, planks or other uneven surfaces?
As KABE Stone+ is applied in very thin layers of approximately 0.5mm, it cannot be used for leveling. Therefore, the surface must be smoothened out before KABE Stone+ is applied. Make sure to choose a product that is suitable for wet zones. We recommend to consult a professional in order to prepare the surface correctly.
What is the difference between KABE Stone and KABE Stone+?
KABE Stone+ is the waterproof version of KABE Stone. The only difference between KABE Stone and KABE Stone+ is the topcoat. The KABE Stone topcoat is a wax based varnish that is easy to apply and gives a raw and lively look. The KABE Stone+ topcoat is a waterproof varnish, that is suitable for wet zone areas.
Does KABE Stone and KABE Stone+ appear identical in color and look?
The colors are identical, as the colored plaster is the same for KABE Stone and KABE Stone+. However, as the topcoat is different the final look will appear different. KABE Stone topcoat is wax-based and gives a rough and lively surface, while KABE Stone+ topcoat is a waterproof varnish, that gives a more uniform and less lively look.
